Days of Heinz Past
Days of Heinz past was a project I directed during university in response to a D&AD brief celebrating the 50th anniversary of Heinz. As you can probably tell, it was also a homage to various pieces of pop-culture that involve time-travel.

I was responsible for the character designs as well as the direction, and wanted the characters to have a quirky charm. I looked at a lot of 2010's children's animation and went with rubber-hose style limbs to oppose the mechanical limb of The Tomatinator.

We used stop-motion animated Heinz tomato ketchup for the time-portal and other ketchupy bits of the film. The studio did not smell good afterwards.
Above are a few of my earliest roughs that I revised before the final version. Considering our tight schedule, the film still changed a lot throughout production.
